Gochujang Alfredo Pasta

Try the new favorite type of dish that can be found across Korea, a rose pasta that uses a cream or cheese based sauce with gochujang, a spicy bean paste. 

Creamy garlicky sauce with spicy Gochujang kick. This sauce will become your go to for a quick and easy meal.  

Recipe

  1. In a large non-stick skillet, melt 2 Tbsp butter over medium heat. When hot, add garlic and cook until fragrant, stirring constantly. Make sure not to burn the garlic.
  2. Stir in Gochujang and cook for 30 seconds, stirring constantly.
  3. Add heavy cream over medium heat, stirring well. Reduce heat to low and simmer until thickened, about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. 
  4. Add 2 Tbsp butter and whisk well until combine.
  5. Stir in parmesan cheese and half parsley. Remove pan from heat. Sauce is best when served immediately. If the sauce is not thick enough add more cheese.
  6. During making the sauce, cook pasta. Toss cooked pasta with the sauce. Fettuccine and spaghetti are good with it.
  7. Garnish with parsley right before serve.

Ingredients

 For Main-       

Pasta of your choice (fettuccine or spaghetti is recommended)    

 4 tbsp. Butter (salted or unsalted)     2 Tbsp. Minced garlic     

1 1/2 to 2 Tbsp. Gochujang (Korean chili paste)     

1 ¾ c. heavy cream    

1/3 c. freshly grated parmesan cheese    

1 tsp. sugar ** (this is different than on the video. The sugar is to taste, but we recommend starting with a teaspoon)     

1-2 Tbsp. minced fresh parsley for garnish     Salt and pepper to taste

Do not reduce too much.
