Apple Jam(사과잼)-

Apples are everywhere and this is perfect season to make some Spiced Apple Jam. This recipe is easy to make a flavorful apple jam. 

How to use ginger syrup

Recipe

  1. Wash jars and water bath them for sterilizing for 15 minutes. Let them air dry.
  2. Wash apples and peel them. Core the apples and dice them finely. Also you can you a food processor to chop apples. when you use it, add ginger syrup with apples and chop them together.
  3. Place chopped apples in a large pot or pan.
  4. Add lemon juice
  5. Cover the apple with sugar. Let them simmer on low heat, until sugar melts. DO NOT STIR IT!
  6. After sugar melts, put cinnamon sticks and cinnamon powder. Mix well and simmer them on medium heat.
  7. Cook the jam and stir occasionally until apples are soft and jam gelling point at least 45 minutes. It is completed, if you can see the bottom of the pot well when you stir the jam.
  8. Pack warm apple jam into sterilized jars and cover the jar .
  9. Turn jars upside down, cool them in room temperature, and put them in the refrigerator.

  • 250g sugar
  • 5 Tbsp Ginger syrup or 

               5 tsp minced ginger

  • 2 cinnamon sticks (optional )
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 lemon for juice

Helpful Tips

Depending on the tartness of the apples, the sugar quality can be increase or decreased. 

I used Granny Smith , Pink Lady and Fuji for the jam.
